Who Are We?

Welcome to Abyssinian kitten cattery! We are a family-owned cattery located in MA State. Our love for the Abyssinian breed began years ago when we welcomed our first kitten into our home. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to breeding and raising healthy, socialized, and happy Abyssinian kittens

We prioritize the well-being of our cats and ensure that they are raised in a clean and safe environment. We follow ethical breeding standards and work closely with our veterinarian to ensure that our cats are healthy and well-cared for.

Our kittens are raised at home and are socialized from an early age, which makes them adaptable to different environments and family dynamics. We always match our kittens with the perfect families to ensure that both the kitten and the family have a lifelong, loving bond.

We take great pride in our breeding program and strive to produce kittens that meet the breed standards. Our kittens come with a health guarantee and are up-to-date on all their vaccinations and deworming.

Ethical Breeding Standards

We take ethical breeding standards very seriously at our Abyssinian cattery. The health and welfare of our cats are of utmost importance, and we follow ethical breeding practices to ensure that all our kittens are healthy, well-socialized, and of good quality.

Our breeding cats undergo regular genetic testing and veterinary check-ups to ensure they are healthy and free of any genetic conditions that could be passed on to their offspring. We provide a clean and safe environment for our kittens, with proper nutrition and socialization, to ensure they develop into healthy and well-adjusted adults.

We also adhere to the breed standards established by cat organizations, such as the Cat Fanciers’ Association, to maintain the physical characteristics and temperament of the Abyssinian breed.

As a potential owner of an Abyssinian kitten, we encourage you to research and choose a reputable breeder who follows ethical breeding standards. We are committed to providing our clients with the necessary information and support to properly care for their kittens, and we take pride in the health and quality of all our cats.

Adoption Information for our Abyssinian Kittens

Thank you for considering adopting an Abyssinian kitten from our cattery in Massachusetts. To ensure our kittens go to a loving and suitable home, we require that potential adopters to fill out our online kitten application. The application covers essential questions about your lifestyle, experience with pets, and expectations from a pet. Once we receive your application, we will get in touch with you to discuss further.

Deposit Costs

If you wish to reserve an available kitten, we require a $500 deposit at the time of reservation. For those who wish to join our waiting list, a $100 non-refundable deposit is necessary to secure a spot on the list. The waiting list follows a pick/pass system, where you can wait for your ideal choice of a cat. Please note that the deposit amount is applied to the purchase cost when a kitten becomes available. You must pay the remaining balance when the kitten turns 12 weeks old, or before you pick up the kitten.

How to Receive a Kitten

We can arrange for pick-up or delivery of your kitten, and if needed, a nanny can facilitate transportation. A nanny is typically an off-duty flight attendant who provides specialized care for Abyssinian cats during transportation.

Regular Care for an Abyssinian Kitten

Abyssinian cats have not many care and grooming requirements. They have a short fur that just needs to be brushed to take care of mats and simple dental care goes a long way.

Veterinarian Care

Your kitten will come with a health certificate from a veterinarian and copies of the negative HCM scan from both parents. It is essential to take your kitten to the vet within 48 hours of receiving them. Finding a vet familiar with the Abyssinian breed is vital for their well-being, and we can recommend a vet located in most states as we have contact with different vets.

We recommend the following vaccinations:

  • FVRCP – first dose starting between 6-8 weeks, then every 4 weeks until 16 weeks (4 total)
  • FeLV – once during the first year of life
  • Rabies – once during first year of life, then once annually for life
  • No FIP! – The FIP vaccination has been known to cause a FIP outbreak in the Abyssinian breed and is fatal.

Thank you for considering adopting an Abyssinian kitten from us. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We want to ensure that our kittens go to the best possible homes and are happy and healthy throughout their lives.
